Eurocraft Industries is a family-run business. And nothing is more important to us than the safety and security of our families and our customers. That's why we've designed our EcoStar products to be some safest windows and doors in the world. Our goal is for our products to be safe, functional, versatile and affordable – and they are, especially when you consider the level of personal protection they offer.

Protection against break-in
For the causal thief, breaking into a home protected by an EcoStar window or door, might prove to be just as difficult as a home protected by an elaborate, video-monitored security system.  We know that’s a bold statement, but it’s true. Studies indicate that most thieves will move on if they cannot gain entry into a dwelling within 30 to 90 seconds.  Our products have been tested for entry and break in by National Certified Testing Laboratories in Miami Florida. They’ve found that even when using crowbars and power tools, in their tests ranging from one-minute to five minutes, entry could not be gained into our products. Once you understand how they’re built, it’s easy to understand how this is possible.

Simply put, our products are tough because of the design and materials we use to build them.  Our sashes are engineered to fill an opening. That is, there aren’t any obvious gaps or places where a screwdriver or pry bar could easily be inserted.  That’s aggravating for a thief.  If they try to push in or ram one of our windows or doors, they’ll probably just hurt their shoulder. That’s because the frames and sashes of our products are built with steel-reinforced UPVC. UPVC is a tough plastic, and at the thickness we use, it’s nearly unbreakable.  But, once steel reinforcement is added, it becomes a formidable barrier to all but the most determined criminals. These tough windows and doors frames are anchored in place by our multi-point locking systemMost windows and doors use one or two locking points at the most. Our products use a minimum of six locking points on every window and door. Many of our larger doors and windows can have eight or twelve.

So what’s to keep people from just breaking the glass and opening the windows?  Well, in the first place, most thieves prefer not to break glass, that’s because it’s noisy and draws attention to their criminal acts.  But if they try to break the glass in one of our products, they’ll quickly find that our insulated glass panels are tough too.  All our windows are comprised of a thick pair of glass panes separated by a ½” of insulating air space.  This glass is designed to resist impact in storms. It has an elasticized barrier that’s permanently bonded to the glass surface. If the glass is broken, the elasticized material holds the glass together. This makes it extremely difficult to remove quickly.  And in a break-in situation, every second a window or door buys you, brings you closer to safety. We're not saying our glass is bullet proof, but we are saying it’s incredibly tough.  So tough, one of our customers owes his life to one of our windows.  A few years ago, a high-caliber bullet was shot through the family room window of one of our customers while he was watching TV.  The 30-caliber bullet was found lodged  between the airspace in the windowpanes. It hadn’t even broken the inside pane.  We he recently built a new home, we were the first people he called.

Storm and Weather Protection
We build our windows and doors in Florida. So we’re used to seeing the effects of tropical storms and hurricanes. We’ve designed our products to withstand the high winds and impact forces these types of storms bring. The very materials that make our products so safe against burglaries also protect our customer’s homes against the ravages of Nature.  Our windows and doors have been tested against the toughest hurricane standards in the nation and were approved by the Florida building code (FL#12092).

Whether you live in Miami, Malibu or Madison, Wisconsin, your home should be protected against the elements by EcoStar products. Our windows and doors not only keep you safe, but they also insulate your home against heat and cold, which saves you money on your utility bills.  Are windows and doors are also virtually watertight. Our customers have told us of water lapping a foot or two above the threshold, without even a drop being seen inside the house. What would you pay for this kind of security?

Protection against Fire
If there were a fire in your home, could you get out quickly?  You could if you had EcoStar windows.  Unfortunately, every year, people are trapped and die in their homes because they can’t get out their windows. Usually, they can’t get to a door and the window won’t open wide enough, or it’s too difficult to open.  With our Tilt-N-Turn windows, it takes an effortless turn of the handle to allow the window to open wide like a casement window. If you can fit through the enclosure opening, you can get out – quickly.  Egress codes for rooms where people sleep state that minimum width for a window opening is 20 inches. The minimum height is 24 inches with a maximum height about the floor at 44 inches.  All Ecostar products installed in bedrooms meet these requirements.  Additionally, in the event of fire, the materials we use in the construction of our windows will not emit toxic fumes.  This adds an additional margin of safety for you and your family.
